Risen like Phoenix from the ashes.

Risen like Phoenix from the ashes.

Easter time is a good time to talk about people who owe Diversity Voice new life. You can easily compare them to the mythological Phoenix bird, a symbol of regeneration and rebirth. An example how well Diversity Voice is supporting those who trust us is Mrs Patrycja Piątek.

Last year she faced some really difficult situations. Her health and personal problems were overwhelming and she could not cope on her own. She was a vulnerable young single mother, who was nearly made homeless, with only few weeks left before her eviction. Donna Gillespie from Get Set Bridgwater helped to support her. A staff member from Get Set Bridgwater made a referral to Diversity Voice. We were able to help Patrycja Piątek with immigration advice as well as challenge the DWP’s decision and make an appeal to Tribunal Services on behalf of her. This was successful and Mrs Patrycja Piątek was refunded Housing Benefit and Employment Support Allowance. Donna Gillespie sorted out all communication with the local council and also helped the client to find employment. Luckily Patrycja found us when she needed us and we were able to help her. We are now proud of her, and reinforcing our feeling that all the effort we are making to help people is worth it.
