Independence Day Celebration a success

On Saturday 10th November Diversity Voice held a special event to celebrate 100 years of International independence Day at Victoria Park Community Centre.

Everyone from different nationalities and children of all ages came together to enjoy and celebrate this important day. There was fun activities for whole families, crafts and activities for kids, face painting, games and a range of creative workshops like ‘kids painting a rainbow’ run by Pete the Poet. Polish band Lavender, African Drummers,a short history movie about Polish people living in Somerset, run by Michal Puzynski, Hungarian, LAtvian and Polish food tasting and all sorts of activities. We attract over 250 people during day and it was faboulous day for several nationalities. Films about Lithunian, Estonian, Latvian, Polish Czech and Slovak independece were presented. We were please to have people from Poland, Lithunia, Czech, Spain, Portugal, Maroko, Latvia, Hungary, Malesia, France. The most important that we had so many families and workers from Hinkley Point C. This was a great success for everyone and thank you to all volunteers for their great work.
