Family activities for the Easter Holidays

In the UK Easter is one of the major Christian festivals of the year. It is full of customs, folklore and traditional food. Easter eggs are a very old tradition going back to a time before Christianity. Eggs after all are a symbol of spring and new life. Here are some activities happening in Somerset for the whole family to enjoy to celebrate Easter.

Taunton Pupils Display Diversity

Throughout the month of July 2017 there was a Diversity Display for anyone to see made by pupils of Holway Park Community Primary School in Taunton.

2017 Chinese New Year - Year of the Fire Rooster

IT’S one of the most colourful events in the calendar, when people take to the streets both in China and across the globe.
Unlike our festivities, which always take place at midnight between December 31 and January 1, Chinese New Year is a movable celebration.

New Year Carols' Concert at St.George's Church in Taunton

On January the 1st 2017 in a beautiful setting of St. Georges Church (Billet Street) a New Year Nativity Play took place, organized by talented children from Weston Super Mare. It was held after a mass.

Polish Film – The Cruise (Rejs in Polish)

The Chojna Committee (part of the Sherborne Douzelage) proudly presents the Polish Film ‘The Cruise’ at 6.45pm for 7.15pm. Tickets £7 from the Tourist Information Office, Winstone’s Bookshop or on the door. Profts in aid of Student Exchanges between Sherborne and Chojna (Poland).

Celebrating St Nicholas Day in Bridgwater

Diversity Voice would like to invite you to a St. Nicholas Day event. This will take place on Sunday 4th of December at Victoria Park Community Centre hall in Bridgwater TA6 7AS from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Children of all ages are welcome to come, together with their parents. The party will be a great opportunity to meet friends and new people and to learn about Christmas customs. Doubtless, an outstanding part of the event will be arrival of Santa who will deliver gifts. Plenty of fun activities are planned together with refreshments for the young and old!

BIRTHDAY BONANZA: 70 Reasons To Celebrate in Bridgwater Arts Centre

Bridgwater Arts Centre invites for a free family event that will be held on 22nd October, 10am-4pm. BAC is celebrating its 70th birthday. 

Leigh Food Festival and Vintage Vehicles

11th Leigh Food Fair & Vintage/Classic Car Display will take place on Saturday 16th July in Leigh Village Hall , from 10AM till 4PM. The Festival is sponsored by Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

BRIDGWATER TWINNING WEEK 2016

This year Bridgwater Twinning Week will be spread over 5 days from the 21st to 25th April including the weekend. Bridgwater has 5 twin towns and leads the way in modern day Internationalism for Somerset.
