Helping Taxi drivers in Yeovil and Weston Super Mare to reduce Hate Crime.

In April 2017 Diversity Voice ran a focus group for Romanian Taxi drivers, who were frequently attacked by some passengers during night work. Some of the taxi drivers were alleged of sexual crime including rape. At this stage 2 taxi drivers were found not guilty after the trials in Taunton Crown Court.

Diversity Voice together with Avon and Somerset Police and SARI would like to engage taxi drivers, owners of restaurants, people working in food shops and any business, which are affected with hate crime.
This letter from Diversity Voice is directed to people who may benefit from this research.

Dear All,
Some time has passed since we met in Yeovil at the taxi driver focus group last year. Since this time we strongly campaigned with several organisations to make changes for you. We have got some good news and we would like to share this with you. Yeovil and Weston Super Mare have been selected as towns to run a night time economy research. What we would like to do is to engage some of you to help in creating and shaping questions. We will need to have your feedback from the attached questionnaire. This is to make sure that we get  the best outcome from the reseach and will make sure we will shape any additional support for vulnerable taxi drivers, shop owners etc.
There will be two ways to deliver this one will be online and second will be planned face to face interviews at night when researches, police, Diversity Voice, Sari, and hopefully a few taxi drivers will collect information. If you are interested in this project, please let me have your details and we will engage during this process. Please e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. Please have a look at this questionnaire and email us your feedback and let us know if there is any other questions you would like to add.
