Competition for children

MECA organises Drawing and writing contest for children entitled " School of my dreams"
The Contest is addressed to children from Somerset who are invited to participate in two age categories.

1). 6-9 years old
2). 10-12 years old
This contest will give the children the possibility to express their feelings regarding their school life. The Contest winners will be invited for the one day trip to Longleat Safari Park.
MECA has the pleasure of inviting children from 6 to 12 years of age to participate in the Contest in accordance with these Regulations:
Purpose of the contest.
Children have always expressed thoughts in drawings and writing using their creativity, their originality and their joy at discovering the world around them.
General rules
Children may participate in the Contest in the following categories:
1.6-9 years old
2. 10-12 years old
Technical requirements
Working technique: must be done by hand
Materials used: free (pencil / watercolours / crayons etc)g Contest
Formal requirements
Participants who wish to enter the Contest may submit only one (1), personally created drawing or written story/ poem. (maximum 2 pages of A4 format paper).
( Only individual entries are permitted – no group entries or school entries will be considered.
The Contest starts on the day of the publication of these Regulations, being 16th of June 2014 and the deadline for submissions is 4th July 2014. Submission received after the deadline will be rejected.
All participants are required to fill out the application form provided as Attachment 1 to these Regulations ("Application Form"). The Application Form shall be signed by the duly authorized supervisor(s) of the participant (i.e. parents or legal guardians), which shall constitute the consent for participation in the Contest as well as acceptance of the terms andiconditions set out herein.
The Drawing,Poem or Story should include:
• Family name and first name of the child.
• Date of birth of the child.
• Detailed address (including house or apartment number, street, post code and city,
country).
• Family name(s) and first name(s) of the duly authorized supervisor(s) with telephone numbers.
• Email address (optional).
Competition entries which do not contain all the necessary information mentioned above and/or Competition entries which are not accompanied by a duly signed Application Form will not be considered.

The selection of the winners of the Contest will take place on around 7 July 2014
The Jury will select 12 entries.
Winners will be notified by email or phone in accordance with the contact information provided on the reverse of the submitted competition entry. Public announcement of the winners of the Contest will take place on or around 10 July 2014 and the results will be posted on MECA website

Prizes
Authors of the 12 best entries, 6 from the first age category and 6 from the second age category will be awarded:
Winners of each age category will receive a special award – one day trip to Longleat Safari Park.

We will be collecting children in the following places:

1. 8 a.m Bridgwater on to Asda car park East Quay TA6 5AZ

2. 8:30 a.m. Taunton on the Pizza Hut car park Hankridge Way TA1 2LR

3. 9:30 Yeovil Morrison car park Lysander Road BA20 2AU
Please let us to know with a one week advance which place you have chosen and please do not be late.

Winner must travel on dates determined by Organiser in its sole discretion or the prize will be forfeited. All expenses and incidental travel costs, including but not limited to, ground transportation, meals, incidentals, and any personal expenses, are the responsibility solely of winner. Organiser will not replace any lost, damaged, or stolen properties of a child. Organiser is not responsible if any activity is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason, in which event that portion of prize is forfeited in its entirety and no substitution or compensation in lieu thereof will be provided except as in substitution or compensation in lieu thereof will be provided except as in Organiser's sole discretion.

Prize is non-transferable and no substitution or compensation in lieu thereof will bemade unless the Organiser, in its sole discretion, determines otherwise.

Legal requirements

1. Participation in the Contest is free of charge and voluntary.
2. Each participant expressly acknowledges and agrees that:
(a) the competition entry submitted for the Contest shall be created personally by each
participant;
(b) the participant shall not grant to any third party any right in connection with his/her competition entry submitted for the Contest;
c) no reimbursement of any costs in relation to the creation of the entry and
submitting it for the Contest in accordance with these Contest Regulations will be made by MECA.
3. In their Drawings, participants shall not infringe any rights of any third parties, including in particular any and all intellectual property rights and/or copyrights.
4. Each participant agrees not to license, publish nor make available their competition entry submitted for the Contest to any third parties in whatever form.
5. Each participant agrees to transfer, at no additional cost to MECA all his/her rights to the competition entry submitted for the Contest exclusively to MECA, without any territorial or time limitations, in all forms of exploitation, such as: copying; printing; distributing; publishing; modifying; altering; selling; recording; transferring; storing in any form of storage; using in public presentations and/or exhibitions; displaying; and licensing, - all of the above by whatever means and in any form and format.
6. Each participant agrees to execute such further agreements, documents, assurances and acts as may be required to give full legal and practical effect to the terms, intent and purposes of Clause 5 above, including in case his/her competition entry is to be used by
in any additional form of exploitation not mentioned above.
7. MECA shall become solely entitled to dispose of any and all rights related to the Competition entry of each participant and the participant agrees not to claim otherwise.
8. Each participant agrees to indemnify MECA from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses resulting from or in connection with any breach by such participant of the terms of this Contest Regulations.

Appendix 1

participation in the children drawing, writing contest entitled "School of my dreams" and that I/we have read and accept the Contest
Regulations, in particular that:
- the Drawing submitted for the Contest is a result of the participant's own work and does
not infringe third party's rights, and copyrights to such Competition entries are not limited or restricted in any way;
- the participant's name and image may be released to the public by any means in relation to the participation in the Contest;
- ownership and all copyrights related to the competition entry submitted for the Contest are transferred to MECA free of charge and without any time or territorial limitation in accordance with the Contest Regulations, and I/we agree to execute such further
agreements, documents, assurances and acts as may be necessary for this purpose;
- personal data provided in this Application Form will be processed by the Organiser and or MECA or any entity as indicated by MECA in relation with the Contest. I am/We are aware that providing of personal data is voluntary and that I was/we were informed of the right to
review it and amend it at any time;
- the Organiser may retain the original of the Drawing submitted for the Contest.
