Successful St. Nicholas Day Party

The real St. Nicholas was a Bishop who lived in the fourth century in a place called Myra in Asia Minor (now called Turkey). He was a very rich man because his parents died when he was young and left him a lot of money.

He was also a very kind man and had a reputation for helping the poor and giving secret gifts to people who needed them. Inspired by his story we at Diversity Voice wanted to share Christmas joy with the children of Somerset. On the 8th of December with the generous donation of £100 worth of snacks and drinks made by our good friends from the Polish grocery shop Fresh (31-35 EastoverTA6 5AW Bridgwater) and Hinkley Point C Fund we managed to put together a great celebration on St Nicholas Day involving various games and dancing for lots of children. We were pleased to see some Hinkley Point C families joining our unique party and their children joyfully received their presents from Santa and his Elves. The extra time and effort the Diversity Voice members and volunteers put into organising the event paid off, as children and parents left with smiles on their faces and happy memories. As a thank you treat for our volunteers we organised free presents for their children and a lovely trip to ice-skating in Bristol. Our event put a pleasant start to the holiday season.
