Bilingual Support Worker - job opportunity

Diversity Voice works with partners across the county to deliver projects which assist with the settlement and integration of New Comers from other countries. This work includes language training, 1:1 advice and support and work with partners including local authorities, other voluntary sector organisations and education providers.

We have an opportunity for 1 part time post

BILINGUAL SUPPORT WORKER
(POLISH- ENGLISH)

The post holders will work primarily within a designated area of Somerset to support early years, schools, social services providers and families who wish to access their services. The post is part time, with minimum guaranteed hours of 24 each week (9am – 3:30pm).

It is essential that you are able to be flexible, organised and self-motivated as although support is available from our Bridgwater office, the work will be mainly out in the field. Applicants will use their own transport, for which a mileage allowance is paid. Qualifications in childcare or education would be helpful, as would an understanding of the UK education system or early years regulations. Some relevant work experience is essential, although we are open minded about the exact nature of this. We are seeking applicants (of any nationality) who are confident in both English and Polish, additional languages would be helpful.
